Whirlie 5k Fun Run/Walk

The Whirlie 5k Fun run/walk is going to be a fun day of fellowship.  The Grimsley High School track and field/xc teams are raising money for their programs.  This vision was started by senior runner at Grimsley high school, Jacob Barrow who wanted to raise awareness to the gun violence in our communities as well as bring mental/physical health to the forefront of our youth.  There will be vendors and non-profit organizations available on the day of the race.  These vendors and organizations will consist of local groups that help with our youth in the communities that we live in.  There will also be food trucks, music and games!  Please come out and enjoy the fun while also learning about resources in our communities that can help to make a difference in the lives of our youth today!

Cost of registration is $35.  If you register by May 10th you will receive a free t-shirt that will be abailable for pickup on the day of the race.  T-shirts will also be available for sale on the day of the race for $15

Race time starts at 9am with runners starting first and walkers directly after.   The race will start on campus drive near the basketball gymnasium and finish inside the football stadium.   Parking will be at the Grimsley football stadium.  If you are a non-profit organization that would like to participate or a runner/walker that might have a question, please feel free to contact the director of the event, Martin Barrow @336-580-0164 or by email at j6barrow@gmail.com.
